| Richard Roberts AKA Santa retired from Revere Copper and Brass Incorporated in 1982 at age 54. He says that he had to shave every day to go to work and decided to quit shaving on the day he retired. That was almost 20 years ago and he has not shaved since. His beard came out white and people said that he looked like Santa Claus. |
| In 1987 they moved from Old Forge, NY to their present venue, Johnston County, NC. Just before Thanksgiving of that year they were in Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh when the Marketing Director observed Mr. Roberts and noted his resemblance to Santa and asked if he wanted to be their Mall Santa that season. He agreed and a great career of Santa began. |
| Since that time Richard as Santa has had many thousands of children visit him and have their picture made. He has done Santa modeling through his agency Marilyn's Model and Talent Agency of Greensboro, NC. He has done still shots and TV commercials. Most recently he did the Christmas commercial for Bailey's Jewelry Store of Raleigh. |
| He does parades, tree lightings, day care centers, church programs, etc. |
| He will also come to your club to speak and show videos of his Santa experiences and visits as Santa to Peru, SA. For seven years he was Santa at Santa's Workshop at the North Pole on White Face Mountain near Lake Placid, NY. |
