I am the daughter of Chief Radioman Ed Romer. I remember going to Kindergarten on the base, swimming at the base pool with a slide, sledding on a hill behind Navy housing on Laffy(Sp?) Circle. I remember my dad coming to my Kindergarten graduation in his white Navy uniform, and I was so proud to see him in the crowd. We lived on Laffy(sp?) Circle in Navy housing. I can remember playing on the grass and sidewalks and riding my red tricycle. When we heard Taps, we would stop playing, somberly face toward the direction of the sound, and respectfully stood still until it was finished. I was only five, following the lead of the older children there, and I didn't realize until I was an adult what that was all about. I salute all those who served then and now. God bless you.
When were you at USNTC?: Family stationed 1965-1969
What was your unit / rank?: child
Are you a member?: My dad is
